General Information for Prospective Patients

Getting Started

Treatment begins with an initial consultation with Dr. Robert Reiner, the Executive Director of Behavioral Associates. This consultation consists mainly of an "information-gathering" session (as opposed to a full therapy session), and usually lasts about a half-hour.

After the patient's situation has been assessed by Dr. Reiner, the next step is to match him/her with an appropriate member of our group, in order to begin a regular schedule of treatment. This appointment can usually be set up the same day as the initial consultation.

Appointments are generally 45 minutes in length and usually occur once a week.

Behavioral Associates utilizes a sliding fee scale, and costs for treatment are often covered by major medical insurance; be sure to call your insurance carrier to find out the specifics of your coverage. Please visit our Frequently Asked Questions for more information.
